My Favorite Commercial Photographer

Today I am going to talk about one of my favorite commercial photographer in China, which is Man Chen. She is really talent and almost every actors want to be shoot pictures by Man Chen. Since her works are different from other photographers, her special imagination and sensitive sense of fashion makes her the most expensive photographer in China.

Man Chen was born in1980, in Beijing, in China. She started to draw since she was four years old. So, in the beginning, most of her images are more about drawing by Photoshop not only photography. At that time, Photoshop is not really popular in China, so she actually something new to Chinese photographers. For example, “Four Seasons” is one of her most famous work, which was collected by The Museum of San Francisco. In those pictures, she only shoots a naked woman, all other things she drawing in Photoshop.

In addition, she has a really profession team, which are able to help her to finish all crazy ideas. For example, the models’ make up and styles are really unique in Man Chen’s pictures. Most of the make up are in represent exaggerate in a lot of bright colors and it is usual to see some interesting headwear on models’ heads. Besides, the way she use light is really fascinating. She is really good at make different patterns by lights whatever on models’ face and body or on the background. Since, she said she is full of imagination, even she can eat an awful meal just by imagination.

Another reason I like her very much is she refers to show her own story in her pictures. For example, she was born in China, in Beijing, just as same as me. Lots of her fashion images are shooting in the famous place in Beijing, Tian' an men Square, the Great Wall, Summer Palace and the Forbidden City. All of those places are the scenic spots and historic sites in Beijing, which are have nothing related with fashion. However, Man Chen believes that she wants to represent the fashion by her family and she really wants to break the traditional thoughts and try something new.

School Trip in Ping Yao

I shoot these pictures in Ping yao where in Shan xi province. That was a school social practice trip when I was in university. We went to a mountain, and lived there for about half a month to take pictures.

When I arrived the place that we are living, I was shocked by the room. I know that maybe there is no big hotel or soft bed here, but we should have a place, which looks like a motel or something at least. However, the reality is 8 people in one room and we have to share a little bathroom. There is only a small window in the room and the most important thing is that there are some insects on the ceiling!!!! At that time, I started to regret to participate in this trip. 

 

Those people in my pictures are the residences in that mountain, it is really hard for me to imagine there still have a lot of people who live in such a poor condition. They grow food by themselves and sale it for living; they need to walk to some place far away from home to grape pure water; all furniture in their home are extremely old. Most of them a old people or children, since adults went to some big cities to find a job, only come back home once a year or maybe less than that.

Since then, I started to figure out how happiness life I am living now. I have nothing to worry about, almost have everything I want, at least I can see my parents everyday which is seems easy but it’s impossible for the children who lived here. Therefore, I have no reason to unsatisfied with my life now, and I have to see the time that spend with my family as a precious.

At the end of the trip, I no longer complained everything, on the country, I was really respect those people who lived in the countryside and grew food for us. What’s more, the time I spent with my classmates and friends were really unforgettable.       

A Disguised Self

Nowadays, it is hard for people to show their true personality to public. In other words, people usually prefer to be perfect before others. For example, people prefer to show others that they are strong rather than they are weak or unconfident. In most ways, they are more willing to hide their real feelings but show a proper face in some occasion.

In our life, people like to wearing masks everyday. For example, if my friends do not like a person, they will not show that feeling obviously. Because they don’t want to ruin the whole atmosphere or even call a fight. Moreover, I really cannot understand that some of my classmates in high school, who always others opinion. I even think about that if they have their own thoughts or not.

In addition, people in working are also the same way, they have to show fully respective to their boss, whatever it is true or not. Since, they need to keep the job to sustain their family, they have no choice.

  

Furthermore, it is also happened on me. For instance, I am a person, who will feel insecure sometimes, especially, when I am stay alone far away from home. In this case, I would like to pretend to be strong, and I will feel better if I pretend myself to be a boy rather than a girl. Besides, I like smile, and I also want to bring my happiness to those people around me, so I never show my sadness to my families or someone who close to me. Because I know that they are care about me, my negative mood may influence theirs. Like every time I video chat with my parents, I always tell them some interesting things happened recently rather than I caught a cold yesterday or I miss my home something like that.

So I took these pictures, just want to express some feelings above all.
